Sacramento's Savory Ramen House

Yesterday Josh and I went to lunch at Shoki Ramen House, a tiny Sacramento spot with excellent Yelp reviews (cheap and tasty!). Upon walking in to the small whole-in-the-wall restaurant, we were greeted with a loud welcome by the waiter and the two chefs. This was my first time at a ramen house but luckily the service was very helpful so I'll be coming back for more.

Warm, salted edamame to start off the meal

Josh's bowl: Tan Tan Men
Spicy soy-sauce & sesame seed based soup with think noodles, topped with nori, spinach, menma, and moyashi. Broth contained wafu (traditional Japanese soup) and yasai (vegetables).
My bowl: Shio
Sea salt based with thin noodles topped with nori, spinach, menma, moyashi, and chashu. The broth contained wafu (Japanese traditional soup), niku (chicken and pork broth), yasai (vegetable soup), and shrimp oil.

We weren't the only ones who loved the place. Mayor KJ is also fan of the establishment.

I plan to cash in for that free 13th bowl ;)
