Once Again... Super Bowl Sunday!

And this year we had a special treat: after a decade of gumbo retirement my dad returned to the ring (the kitchen) making his first batch of gumbo for the new millennium. The verdict of the house was that it was delicious, but he wasn't too impressed. Oh well I guess that just means that he'll have to practice making it a few more times... Hopefully days when I'm home to sample ;)

Also on the day's menu was my mom's homemade vanilla ice cream, a giant salad with two homemade dressings, fresh guacamole, and (my favorite) the veggie tray.
