Some days you just need a good burger.
Friday was definitely one of those days, as I was craving beef like you wouldn't believe
Here's a couple quick shots of meal Josh and I had at Walnut Creek's The Counter.
For an appetizer we had to go with The Fifty-fifty starter... And I say had to because I love their shoestring fries to death and Josh feels the same about their onion straws so this is our only solution. Not many places or foods that we can't compromise on but this appetizer is definitely one of them.
My favorite fries, part of The Fifty-fifty
Josh's favorite onion straws, part of The Fifty-fifty
For those who don't know, the Counter is all about the art of the custom-made burger. We both decided to take advantage of their custom options and designed our own burgers.
My burger:
Original bun with 1/3 lb. beef patty
Tillamook cheddar, dill pickle chips, sauteed onions, tomatoes
Topped with a fried egg and Red Relish sauce
Josh's burger:
Original bun with 2/3 lb. beef patty
Swiss cheese, lettuce blend, sauteed onions,
Topped with applewood smoked bacon, tangy western BBQ sauce
and onion straws from the appetizer
